PostHeaderIcon IT NEWS#11 Nintendo 3DS

Introducing the Nintendo 3DS system. Experience incredible gameplay featuring real 3D graphics, with no need for special glasses. Nintendo 3DS is a breakthrough in portable entertainment, a truly cutting-edge piece of hardware. It has to be seen to be believed.

3D Screen

The Nintendo 3DS system opens up a whole new world of eye-popping gameplay possibilities. The stereoscopic 3D display of the upper screen gives objects within the game world a feeling of space and depth that extends far into the back of the screen. It becomes easier to see the position of characters and obstacles in the world, making many game experiences even more intuitive for all types of players.

3D Depth Slider

A built-in 3D Depth Slider allows you to immediately adjust the intensity of the 3D settings on the Nintendo 3DS system to your liking. The 3D effect can also be turned down completely—all Nintendo 3DS games and applications can be played in 2D, and look better than any Nintendo handheld before it.

Motion Sensor & Gyro Sensor

Portable play control reaches a new level with these amazing features, allowing for new & unique gameplay mechanics. A built-in motion sensor and gyro sensor can react to the motion and tilt of the system, so whether players are twisting their systems side to side or moving them up and down, their motion-compatible Nintendo 3DS games respond instantly.

Two Screens

Game graphics have never looked better on a Nintendo handheld system, thanks to the two screens of the Nintendo 3DS system.
A widescreen display on the top screen shows 800x240 pixel resolution, allocating 400 pixels for each eye to create the 3D effect.
The bottom LCD touch screen operates at a resolution of 320x240—with both screens capable of displaying a brilliant 16.77 million colors.

Analog Control

With the Circle Pad, located above the + Control Pad, Nintendo 3DS offers full analog control in 3D game worlds. Combined with the touch screen, traditional buttons, camera and microphone input, and advanced motion control of the Motion Sensor and Gyro Sensor, the potential is extraordinary.

3D Camera

The Nintendo 3DS system uses its two outer cameras to see the world in 3D, much like the human eye, allowing for the creation of 3D photos—and a similar 3D effect to that seen in Nintendo 3DS games.

Adjustable Stylus

The adjustable Nintendo 3DS Stylus takes the idea of touch control to a new and even more user-friendly level. Once removed from the holder, the stylus length can be adjusted to your liking with a simple push or pull. Now anyone can achieve the optimum level of comfort while playing games that use the stylus.

2GB SD Memory Card Included

Every Nintendo 3DS system comes packed with a 2GB SD Memory Card. You can use this SD Memory Card to store your 3D photos, and sound recordings created on the Nintendo 3DS system, and music* from your PC. You can also use it to store games downloaded from the Nintendo eShop. The Nintendo 3DS system has SDHC card compatibility to increase your storage space even further.

Sony VAIO F Series 3D-capable Multimedia Laptop Review

Sony just recently announced their first 3D laptop, the VAIO F Series, and as the laptop is just about to start becoming available on the market I was able to get a hold of a sample for a few days to do a quick review, so here you can read my first impressions. As usual the review will focus mostly on the stereo 3D capabilities of the laptop and won’t cover every aspect or provide a lot of more general benchmarks, but you are welcome to ask about things that are not covered in the review as well. Some people may say that Sony is a bit late, considering that the company is pushing for strong 3D support with their different product lines, and although they may be right, Sony did a great job with the 3D capabilities of the VAIO F Series laptop, so that can fully compensate for the delay. I’ve already tested a few 3D laptops from other companies such as Acer, Asus and HP, companies that were able to push their products on the market earlier, but I was really surprised by the level of quality I saw with the Sony 3D laptop as compared to the other solutions I’ve tested so far. It seems that Sony was able to produce a laptop with a 3D-capable screen that can provide 3D quality and performance comparable to that of a 3D HDTV. A bit more expensive of course, however for everyone wanting to get the best 3D experience, the bit higher price of the Sony VAIO is well worth as compared to the other mobile 3D solutions offered by other laptop makers that may be slightly more affordable. One more thing that is very important is to say that the VAIO F Series 3D laptops are 3D-capable multimedia solutions, they are not intended as mobile gaming solutions, although you can also play games on them…

PostHeaderIcon IT NEWS#7 Mini Wii Keyboard

Mini Wii Keyboard

All of us who have a Wii console know how hard it is to type with the controller. It doesn’t matter how much your practice, you are never going to nearly as fast with the remote as with a keyboard. We have the same problem on the PS3 and on Xbox 360.Wii Keyboard Typing with gaming controllers is tiresome and slow. Who cares it’s a game console you say? Well I think the game consoles today are more than just a game console. We have them plugged to internet and they control our entertainment systems.
The games you play online are getting better and better and there needs to be ways to communicate by typing. Sure a microphone so you can speak is cool but how does that work when drunken teenagers are screaming all the time and everyone talking at the same time.
A company called Logic 3 has produced a mini QWERTY keyword for the Wii console. It features symbol shifting and all the F-keys. It is very similar to a regular keyboard but smaller and with only the most important keys. It links up to the Wii’s USB port and fit on the controller.
This is the second keyboard available for the Wii console. Logitech released a traditional keyboard for the Wii last year. This keyboard has a much better format and fits with the Wii style. The Logic 3 keyboard should be available in the shops on July 18th and cost around $30.

JVC’c GS-TD1 3d HD Camcorder Makes 3D Home Videos a reality (For a Price)

3d hd camcorderIf you’ve been waiting to make your home movies look like Avatar, now’s your chance. The new JVC GS-TD1 camcorder can bring all of your 3 dimensional dreams to life (for $1,700). The camcorder offers a pair of 3.32 megapixel sensors which can shoot up to 1080i in 3D.
In addition, you get a 5X optical zoom and 64GB of built-in storage. If you need more than that (and who wouldn’t?) there’s also a SDXC card slot for expansion. The 3.5 inch LCD monitor shows you what you shot in 3D without the need for glasses so you can be sure that your framing is perfect before you yell “cut!”

The proprietary JVC biphonic audio recording allows you to capture 3D sound as well.
While $1,700 may sound expensive, other pro-grade 3D camcorders go for several thousand dollars. Even this JVC model was supposed to sell for over 2 grand but the last minute price drop brought it well under.
While this isn’t the type of camera that your average soccer mom or dad is going to want to plonk down a month’s savings for, it is handy and well tooled enough that prosumers can get in on the 3D game without going broke.

PostHeaderIcon IT NEWS#3 Driveway Alarm

1/2 Mile Driveway Alarm

For those who are extremely used to having the path of life open up for you way in advance, as other people do all the groundwork while you stroll into the limelight, then we might think the 1/2 Mile Driveway Alarm is a most suitable gadget for your home. After all, this alarm system will alert you whenever there is a vehicle coming up the driveway – from a whopping half mile away. How is this possible?
Definitely no magic is involved, but you will have a remote motion sensor attached to a mailbox post or address sign that is located at the end of your drive, where it can detect the movement of vehicles which pass up to 50′ away. Having said that, it will send a wireless signal back to the monitor in a home, which makes it perfect for homes that have long driveways.
The monitor itself will generate a tone to alert you that someone is coming to your doorstep, and it can support up to a quartet of sensors for homes that have multiple entrances, where each sensor emits a different tone so you can “hear” which entrance to look at without missing a beat. The 1/2 Mile Driveway Alarm can be yours for $179.95, although we’re not sure whether false alarms are more of the norm than rarity in this case

PostHeaderIcon IT NEWS#2 TOSHIBA'S MOBILE LCD MONITOR

Toshiba’s Mobile LCD Monitor For Under $200

And the race is officially on to be the king of USB powered monitors with Toshiba in the Lead. We’ve already seen several extremely portable secondary monitors debuted this year but Toshiba’s new Mobile LCD model is by far the most impressive—partially because it only costs $200.
For that price you might not be expecting much but surprisingly the 14 inch monitor stands up to the hordes beating down the gates. It comes equipped with a 1366 X 768 display with 200 nits of brightness. In addition the 16 millisecond refresh rate is enough to keep anybody happy.

The device is 100% compatible with Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Windows XP and all you need is a single USB cord for power and data transfer—no more hunting for a spare outlet or overloading your current surge protector. And if you simply must chain yourself to an outlet, Toshiba offers an optional AC adapter as well.
And when I said this thing was portable, I wasn’t kidding. It only weighs 2.8 pounds. That’s quite a feat in and of itself.
One neat feature that’s just the cherry on the top of the sundae is the “hybrid” carrying case that comes standard. Not only will it protect your modest little investment but it doubles as a kickstand so you can display your new Toshiba Mobile LCD monitor anywhere.

PostHeaderIcon IT NEWS#1 IPAD 2 is released!

apple-ipad-2-akan-hadir-di-pasaran-3-tahun-lagi.jpgApple's iPad 2 will feature a better quality display, faster chips, separate CDMA and GSM versions, iPod touch-like dual cameras, and vendors will produce 4.5 to 5 million units in the first quarter, according to a new report from Taiwan.

No Retina Display

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of Concord Securities has prepared a report indicating that iPad 2 won't get higher resolution screen this year, using the same 1024x768 of the original iPad.

"The improvement of iPad 2 display," the report notes, "focuses on thickness and anti-reflection, not resolution. iPad 2 display module is 30~35% thinner than iPad 1 and it’s helpful for better form factor.

"Thanks to anti-reflection, iPad 2 could have better sunlight readable experience and it's helpful for Apple to compete with Amazon's fast growing Kindle business.
"The most important reason why iPad 2 won’t have retinal display is yield rate of panel making. At this point, making high resolution and bright IPS/FFS panel is not easy and the production volume and cost couldn’t meet Apple’s requirements."
Faster, better, stronger

The new iPad model is also said to pack much higher processing power, graphics and more RAM and faster memory access. The greater computing power of the revised iPad "could ensure iPad 2‘s competitive advantage for coming tablet war this year," the report notes.

"iPad 2 will use [ARM] Cortex-A9 dual core processor running at 1.2GHz. Increasing 1~2% single core processor clock results in a 3~5% power increase and dual core could get a better balance between computing power and power consumption. That's the reason why Apple will use dual core for iPad 2."

As
expected, the report also states "iPad 2 will also have a GPU using Imagination’s SGX543 dual core graphics technology which is 200~300% powerful than iPhone 4."
RAM is also on the rise, the report says. "For making full use of GPU upgrading advantage, iPad 2 needs bigger memory bandwidth. So iPad 2 has 512MB RAM, same as iPhone 4 and twice as much as iPad 1, but running at higher clock 1,066 MHz for getting bigger memory bandwidth (iPhone 4 memory clock is 800 MHz)."
3G and cameras

Rather than being made available in a world-mode version, the report say "iPad 2 adds one new CDMA model and it could bring more market share to Apple. Project IDs of Wi-Fi, GSM and CDMA iPad 2 models are different. GSM iPad will use Infineon chip and CDMA iPad will use Qualcomm chip. More suppliers could reduce the risk of component shortage."

The possibility of an SD Card slot is mentioned, but not confirmed, but the report notes iPad 2 will have two cameras, but with components shared with iPad touch, rather than the higher quality iPhone 4 cameras.

ipad2.jpg"There are more and more photo and video editing applications for iPad in App Store. The SD slot could let users easily transfer photo and video files made by DSC and DV to iPad and edit them," the report observed, falling short of actually confirming whether a card slot will be present.
"iPad has two cameras. Front camera is 0.3 mega-pixel [VGA, like iPhone 4] and rear one is 1 mega-pixel [like iPod touch, rather than iPhone 4]. Front camera is for Facetime and Photo Booth and 0.3 mega-pixel is enough because the resolution of iPad 2 is 1,024x768. Rear camera is for applications such as video recording and augmented reality."
4.5 to 5 million units in 1Q 2011

The report notes Foxconn will remain the iPad's sole maker, noting that production began this month and will result in "at least 4.5 - 5 million units for Apple in 1Q'11. iPad 2 will likely go to market in late 1Q'11 or early 2Q'11 based on supply chain shipment status."

PostHeaderIcon favorite#15 MANGA!! (not mango)

Manga consist of comics and print cartoons (sometimes also called komikku コミック), in the Japanese language and conforming to the style developed in Japan in the late 19th century. In their modern form, manga date from shortly afterWorld War II, but they have a long, complex pre-history in earlier Japanese art.
In Japan, people of all ages read manga. The medium includes a broad range of subjects: action-adventure, romance, sports and games, historical drama, comedy, science fiction and fantasy, mystery, horror, sexuality, and business/commerce, among others.Since the 1950s, manga have steadily become a major part of the Japanese publishing industry, representing a 406 billion yen market in Japan in 2007 (approximately $3.6 billion). Manga have also become increasingly popular worldwide. In 2008, the U.S. and Canadian manga market was $175 million. Manga are typically printed in black-and-white, although some full-color manga exist (e.g.Colorful). In Japan, manga are usually serialized in telephone book-size manga magazines, often containing many stories, each presented in a single episode to be continued in the next issue. If the series is successful, collected chapters may be republished in paperback books called tankōbon. A manga artist (mangaka in Japanese) typically works with a few assistants in a small studio and is associated with a creative editor from a commercial publishing company. If a manga series is popular enough, it may be animated after or even during its run, although sometimes manga are drawn centering on previously existing live-action or animated films(e.g. Star Wars).
"Manga" as a term used outside Japan refers specifically to comics originally published in Japan. However, manga-influenced comics, among original works, exist in other parts of the world, particularly in Taiwan("manhua"), South Korea ("manhwa"), and the People's Republic of China, notably Hong Kong ("manhua").[ In France, "la nouvelle manga" has developed as a form of bande dessinée (literally drawn strip) drawn in styles influenced by Japanese manga. In the United States, people refer to what they perceive as manga "styled" comics as Amerimanga, world manga, or original English-language manga (OEL manga). Still, the original term "manga" is primarily used in English-speaking countries solely to describe comics of Japanese origin.
